It's asparagus season! To celebrate this delicious vegetable I visited our (The Hop Shop's) supplier: Charlie Beslee. Charlie harvests approximately 8 acres of the tastiest asparagus every year. It requires cutting every few days to select the ripest stems. Hampered by the cold weather at the weekend, this harvest was a few days late, and despite being a windy and rainy day, the gang were out cutting, trimming, bunching and boxing the asparagus ready for delivery to the London markets and local farm shops. The Hopshop will be stocked with Charlie's asparagus all season.
